I was in a doctor’s office waiting room when I heard the brain tilting theme song for Baby Shark. My heart sank. I was knitting while waiting, so at least there was something to keep me occupied while the silly TV show blared on.
Slowly, however, as I knitted and listened, I realized this show was doing something important. The makers were teaching children about the importance of making Good Trouble, civic engagement, and taking positive action when you think something in your community is wrong. They did everything but mention the late GREAT Representative John Lewis.
My first response to this show was to curse its mind numbing theme song. But turns out, the content is pretty special.
